(Menlo Park) – Senator Josh Becker (D-Menlo Park) will present a $4.45 million “big check” to Redwood City officials on Monday, November 28, representing the funds Becker was able to secure in the state budget to help pay to convert a parking lot into a new public park in the city.

The new public park will be built at 1012 Main Street, next to the Redwood City Public Library in downtown Redwood City. The new park and community area will include a plaza, a children's play space, a water feature, public art, as well as a lawn and garden area.
This funding will also help to build out the Redwood Creek Trail, using boardwalks and pathways to connect downtown Redwood City with San Francisco Bay.
First elected in 2020, Senator Becker represents the 13th Senate District covering portions of of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties and includes the cities of Menlo Park, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Mateo, Santa Clara, South San Francisco, and Sunnyvale.
